Job Summary

Interns will help with varying responsibilities and duties to make our off-field performance as stellar as our on-field performance.

These internships are unpaid, but will give interns a valuable look at how a soccer team operates both on and off the field.

Game Day Operations Interns can be mature juniors and seniors in high school through the college ranks.

Responsibilities & Duties

We are looking to have 8-10 highly motivated individuals looking for an “all around” experience to be our Game Day Interns. The following list highlights some of the areas Game Day Interns will assist:

2023 SENIOR Internship POSITIONS


Qualifications & Skills

Senior interns will be striving for a career in sports, media, entertainment, recreation, sales, business and additional majors at a college or university.

Sales & Sponsorship Interns

4 - 6 Positions

These are commissioned (PAID) positions. Positions will include sales of group tickets and corporate sponsorships. Salespeople will be assigned territories/markets in the greater Cleveland area. Position requires a car and a valid driver’s license. ALL CANDIDATES FOR THESE POSITIONS MUST BE ABLE TO START IN JANUARY 2022. Anticipated weekly hours (5-10 hours).

USL League 2 Equipment Manager

1 Position

Interested in being a coach at the professional level? This will be a paid internship position. Candidate must have valid OH Drivers license. Position will involve attendance at all Cleveland Force Soccer Club USL League Two  and USL Academy practices and both home and away games. Position will be responsible for setup, tear down, and handling of all USL League Two/USL-A practice and game equipment (uniforms, balls, cones, pinnies, warmups, gear, water bottles, etc.). Position will be responsible for washing of game uniforms and occasional practice uniforms. Position will oversee 1-2 practice and 1-2 home game Junior Bench Managers. Anticipated weekly hours (15-30 hours).

Merchandise Intern

1 Position

Interested candidate will be responsible for assisting CFSC Merchandise Managers with operation, sales, and inventory associated with CFSC Merchandise. In addition to the game day merchandise stand, this position will handle setup/operation of Merchandise at local events (camps, clinics, community events, etc.). Anticipated weekly hours (4-8 hours).

Press & Social Media Intern

2+ Positions

Candidate will work closely with Director of Communications and Marketing and Director of Social Media to provide social media marketing, updates, and press releases throughout the CFSC season. Ideal candidates will have communications, writing, and/or public relations major or interests. Anticipated weekly hours (4-8 hours).

Community Relations Intern

1 Position

Candidate will work with Director of Communications and Marketing and Director of Youth Soccer to coordinate and execute all community outreach and public relations activities including: player appearances, community organization events, school outreach programs, and more. Ideal candidate will be Cleveland/Akron area college attendee who is able to offer internship time starting in January 2022. Anticipated weekly hours (January-April 4-8 hours), (May-August 10-12 hours).

Photo & Video Production Interns

2+ Positions

Candidate will work with Video Director and Director of Social Media. Ideal candidates will have interest and experience in sport film production and video editing/production. In addition to assisting with CFSC game broadcasts, ideal candidates will assist Operations Director, Head Coach, and Director of Youth Coaching in preparing/executing monthly live YouTube TV show, producing player profile videos, and similar video productions for team and league use. Anticipated weekly hours (January-April 4-8 hours), (May-August 15-20 hours).
